“A reward was paid linked to the Wendy Kloppers matter. No further details may be provided for safety reasons.”

Sharazaadht Essop and Warren-Lee Dennis are facing a murder charge related to the death of Kloppers. Dennis handed himself over to police.

Essop is also facing two attempted murder charges and charges for the unlawful possession of a firearm.

In the latest developments, former DA housing Mayco member, Malusi Booi, was granted R250 000 bail while he faces a case involving R1 billion tender fraud and corruption.

Booi was arrested alongside Suraya Manual, Abdul Kader Davids, Mohammed Amod, Brenda and Randall Mullins, Thuli Imgib, his ex-wife Nomvuyo Mnyaka, ex-girlfriend Lorna Ndoda, and former colleague Siphokazi September, who are all believed to be part of the corruption involving housing tenders.

Kloppers previously told Weekend Argus that he believed his wife was killed in a case of mistaken identity, and that the intended target drove the same car as hers and it was the same colour.
