Stellenbosch FC will begin the defence of their Carling Knockout Cup when they take on AmaZulu in the Last 16 of the competition.

The men from the Cape Winelands, who were beaten in the MTN8 final in Durban last weekend, will be hoping to once again go all the way to win on their second ever trophy in the club’s history.

They beat TS Galaxy on penalties at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last season to lift their first-ever trophy.

The draw for the competition took place on Tuesday, and resulted in some juicy ties, the biggest of which being Nasreddine Nabi’s Kaizer Chiefs trip to the nation’s capital to face SuperSport United.

Reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns will host Golden Arrows, while cup kings Orlando Pirates will have an easier tie against newly promoted Magesi FC.

Having started the new season with a trophy, Jose Riveiro’s Bucaneers will now want to add more silverware in their trophy cabinet.

Richards Bay tackle Sekhukhune United, Polokwane City play Marumo Gallants, while TS Galaxy will host Chippa United. In the Mother City, Cape Town City will be up against Andile Mpisane’s Royal AM.

The PSL is yet to announce the dates for the fixtures.
