Who’s it gonna be? Western Province are slight favourites, but the Sharks will have revenge on their minds when they run out in the Currie Cup final at Newlands on Saturday.
Of course, it was almost the other way around in 2017, with WP going to Durban to beat the Sharks 33-21 at Kings Park.
But the final is not as straightforward as it seems, despite Province having won 50-28 against the Sharks in a league match at Newlands just a few weeks ago.
John Dobson’s team had to get through 100 minutes of torture to make it into the decider as they held off the Blue Bulls 35-32 in the semi-finals, while the Sharks had it slightly easier, winning 33-24 against the Golden Lions.
To give us some insight into the final, we asked digital sports editor at Independent Media, Ashfak Mohamed, and The Mercury rugby writer Mike Greenaway to tell us what they expect will happen at Newlands at 4pm on Saturday.
