East London – For the second consecutive 50-over limited-overs match played at Buffalo Park, heavy rain forced a match to be abandoned without a ball being bowled on Sunday.

The Warriors were scheduled to play the Knights, but rain since Friday morning and all through Saturday impacted on the outfield which was under a few centimetres of water in places, and forced the two umpires, Ian Howell and Allahudien Paleker to immediately abandon the match.

This is a huge disappointment to the two teams. The Warriors, who won the first game between the two sides in Kimberley earlier this month, were keen to add to their points tally, while the Knights were eager to extract some revenge for their earlier loss.

Last Friday, the Warriors’ match against the Cape Cobras was also abandoned.
