The farms, about 16km from Herbertsdale on the Albertinia Road, are suitable for lucerne, wine, fruit or dairy farming, says the auction house.

Herbertsdale, established in 1865, is about 46km from Mossel Bay. The Gouritz River flows through the confluence of the Gamka and Olifants rivers and is joined by the Groot River before flowing through the Langeberg.

Tenders will close on Friday at noon for:

A 65.7ha farm dating back to 1690 with an abundance of water from the Gouritz River, four boreholes and two dams.

The improvements comprise a 570m² four-bedroom homestead, a two-bedroom manager’s dwelling, guest cottage, stores, dairy, and old wine cellar.

A 122.9ha farm also with strong water resources. River bed grazing covers about 35ha and there is another 8ha of arable land. On site are a dwelling and a bales shed.

Home and Hectare Real Estate will be in Theewaterskloof in the Overberg on Saturday to conduct an on-site insolvency auction of a 300m² vacant plot at 3 Gloria Road in Gloria Bay, a residential estate on the dam. The auction starts at 11am.
