The 44 hectare Balgowan eco-estate in the KZN Midlands is one of the many and diverse lots for BidX1 SA’s first online property auction on April 10.

With another 17ha of privately-owned indigenous forest adjacent to the eco- estate, this prime property in Balgowan is one of the headline attractions at the company’s inaugural online sale, which is expected to draw strong bidding.

Bounded by Hilton in the south, Hidcote in the north, Dargle Valley in the west and Currys Post to the east, the property on offer is near Bosch Hoek Golf Club and close to some of South Africa’s top private schools such as Hilton, Michaelhouse and St Anne’s.

Among the other KZN attractions at the BidX1 auction will be:

* Two houses in the scenic Albert Falls, just about 30 minutes’ drive from both Durban and Pietermaritzburg. On offer are a five-bedroom residence on 8500m² stand at 52 Sycamore Avenue, and a three-bedroom house on 7000m² at 92 Umavoti Road.

The area around the Albert Falls Dam is filled with secluded nature trails and picnic spots that form part of the Albert Falls Dam Nature Reserve.

* A large double-storey townhouse in the Villa de Vantre secure complex at 20 Faux Street in the Manaba area of Uvongo.

For those seeking a coastal lifestyle further afield, the BidX1 lots include two prime southern Cape properties.

In Mossel Bay, the virtual hammer will come down on a three-bedroom house in a popular, secure estate.

The home has sea views plus easy access to the nearby Langeberg Mall with its shops, bars and restaurants, and the N2 highway. There are two bathrooms, balcony, braai area, open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining area.

The other coastal property is towards the Eastern Cape in the surfer paradise of Jeffreys Bay.

The five-bedroom family home overlooks the sea and features two outdoor braai areas, a double garage with self-contained flat above, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry and fitted bar.

These are three of over 70 properties - including several bank properties - on offer on the April 10 online auction.
