An FNB Property Barometer report says the 60% is a massive increase of almost 50% in the past three and a half years for this sector; it was previously reported as 29% in 2015 and 13% in 2000.
The latest data shows national development of new stock to feed this growing demand is on an upward trajectory and experts say the trend is being spearheaded by homeowners’ need for greater security.
