Civil works, the gatehouse, and the majority of landscaping at Hout Bay’s Applegarth Estate have been completed and a third of the properties have already been sold. The quality of design, the gatehouse, the comprehensive security and hard/soft landscaping “sets us apart”, says Magnus McDowall, managing director of Flagstone Property Development.

The estate offers plots, or a choice of three-, four- and five-bedroom contemporary-styled homes within an indigenous landscaped environment. Prices for homes range between R5.725 million and R9.575m and no transfer duties are payable.

McDowall says Applegarth shows respect for the setting and ecological sensitivity in the overall layout, choice of materials, landscaping and colour schemes. Individual homes have been designed to take advantage of light, space and position.

Mike Greeff, chief executive of Greeff Christie’s International Real Estate, adds: “Applegarth is exactly what so many buyers are looking for. It is a secure boutique estate in a prime location and the exceptional quality of architecture in the contemporary designs, coupled with quality finishes, have been paired with an eco-friendly mindfulness making it a truly remarkable development.”
