Celtisdal affords the buyer all three main options for owning a property – building your own home, purchasing a slightly older one to renovate, or buying a modern home that won’t need touch-ups.
“The properties in Celtisdal are a mix of modern properties, with exceptional features, and older structures which have bigger floor areas,” says Gail Manamela of Seeff Centurion, who has handled property transactions in the suburb for some time.
Manamela says the older freeholds give a greater sense of freedom and privacy, and offer the homeowner the additional advantage of choosing to add on. Most of the freeholds are in estates and comprise about 40% of stock, according to statistics from Lightstone.
These homes were built fairly recently and Manamela says they are five years old or newer, with most occupying stands of between 350m² and 1000m².
”The home interiors are very modern with a touch of elegance. They have installations including broadband wireless for work and entertainment and solar infrastructure to help keep power costs low.”

Manamela says the older sectional title structures, which are mostly in estates and more than 10 years old, come with larger floor areas on smaller stands. Most are well kept and have communal entertainment areas and pools. They also tend to be a good investment vehicle as they are mostly occupied by tenants and are easy to maintain, says Manamela.
“The home interiors are not so modern. However, most home buyers upgrade to modern finishes once they have bought the properties,” she says, adding that these properties are also fitted with fibre.
The complexes and estates in Celtisdal offer premium security, allaying the safety concerns of residents, says Manamela. Freehold homes in this sedate and semi-secluded Centurion suburb cost on average slightly above R2 million, a threshold which Manamela says speaks to the fairly high living standards and great lifestyle opportunities to be expected here.
“Middle-income to high-income earning professionals choose to settle in Celtisdal due to the convenience of its location. It is close to all the essential amenities one can expect, as well as major routes such as the N1 and the N14 that connect the area to Pretoria, Midrand, Kempton Park, Joburg, Krugersdorp, OR Tambo International Airport and Lanseria Airport.”
The suburb is close to a number of schools and learning centres. “There are approximately 43 nursery schools and creches in Rooihuiskraal North, Wierda Park and Eldoraigne, which are all close to Celtisdal.”
Also in the vicinity are plenty of public parks, places of worship and shopping centres. Manamela says the first thing to do when looking to buy in Celtisdal is to find a diligent agent, and everything will fall into place.
Onkemetse Beryl’s favourite places and things to do
Celtisdal is central. I work in Midrand and can get there via Rooihuiskraal or the R55. Traffic can be a concern in the mornings but I’m an early morning person, so using the R55 is always convenient. It’s also easy to get to Krugersdorp via the N14. I’m spoilt for choice with various shopping options and have Mall@Reds, Forest Hill City and Mall@55 to choose from. - Onkemetse Beryl, resident
