Families seeking a convenient lifestyle, and the ability to get to work or take children to school with the least amount of fuss, will find Brummeria the perfect place to live.
“Brummeria is situated close to the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the N1 and N4 highways. It’s also a stone’s throw from top primary schools and churches,” says Seeff Pretoria East specialist area agent Janine Botha.
She says the CSIR and St Paulus School are in proximity, making life easy for parents who work at the CSIR, or residents connected to the CSIR, with children at the school.

Botha says Brummeria’s attractive location near the N4 lends quick access to Hatfield for residents working at the University of Pretoria and Pretoria High School for Girls, not to mention university students and high school pupils connected to these amenities.

She also cites safety and security, and says most of the suburb lies within a boomed-off area:
“The boomed area makes this part of the neighbourhood exceedingly popular. The other portion consists mostly of security complexes with good levels of personal safety.”
She says properties here are ideal for people settling down as they are comparatively small, but still fit in with the needs of the average potential buyer.
“Brummeria is a quiet suburb ideal for scaling down,” says Botha.
Affordability is thus a top consideration, too.
“Because Brummeria has mostly duet units and complexes, we can look at a maximum price of just above R2million. This type of property would have to be renovated and secure to fetch this price in the area as average prices are around R1.6m,” says Botha.
Known as the suburb with “a river running through it” - the Moreleta Spruit - Brummeria has over the past few years grown in popularity with a variety of tenants including young families, professionals, single people and students.
The social perks are just as good, with the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens the most famous landmark of the suburb.
The local Lewende Woord Church plays an active role in the community, hosting community meetings and making its facilities available free on certain occasions.
The Menlyn Park Shopping Centre mega mall and the Hazelwood café society being within easy reach, make life in Brummeria ideal.
“It’s also good to have as your neighbouring suburbs Val de Grace, Lydiana and Lynnwood Manor. It gives a good perception and augurs well for the value of one’s property,” says Botha.
Val de Grace and Lydiana are the more expensive of the three suburbs.
