A Pondoland farm, measuring 2.3ha and described as a “golden ticket” for those seeking “a lifestyle on the wild side”, will be on offer in Rawson Auction Western Cape’s next multiple property sale in Rondebosch on January 30.

The property, which could serve as a lifestyle farm, a country lodge or a corporate getaway, is positioned high above the Umzimvubu River and offers spectacular views, says Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee of Rawson Auctions Western Cape.

Situated 9km outside Port St Johns and surrounded by indigenous forest that abounds with wildlife, the property offers upmarket infrastructure and lush gardens in peaceful surroundings.

Jovanovski says: “It is in a gorgeous locale, and brims with potential and opportunity for a discerning buyer.”

The lodge, which is accommodated in two houses, comprises 11 rooms and a 56-seater restaurant with a kitchens.

Six bedrooms are en-suite, while the remaining five share three bathrooms.

“Nine of the bedrooms are situated in the main house. Each has a deck with breathtaking views.

"Five of these bedrooms are en-suite, while the others share two separate, full bathrooms, each with a bath and/or a shower, a hand basin and a toilet.”

The main house also includes three lounges, two dining rooms, a bar area, and two formal kitchens.

One of the kitchens - the largest of three in the lodge - is situated next to the dining room and is equipped with a pizza oven, a stove, a pantry, and a braai area.

The bar area, below the dining room, is on a wooden deck with fabulous views.

The bar is made of indigenous wood, and there are heavy-duty high tables and chairs. This area also has two guest toilets.

The second free-standing house that makes up the lodge offers two bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom.

There is also a separate bathroom, a big open-plan lounge and TV area, a basic kitchen with a stove, and a stoep with a braai.

In addition to the large, lush garden, the property includes outside braai areas and an outdoor Jacuzzi, covered only by thatch, which offers bathers exquisite and long-distance views over the surrounding countryside.

“Given its location above the Umzimvubu River and surrounded by indigenous forest, the lodge is a haven which offers opportunities to watch birds and wildlife,” says Jovanovski.

Water for the property is sourced from a natural spring and as a result does not contain any chemicals.

The property will be auctioned at noon on Wednesday at the Rawson Property Group’s head office at 222 Main Road, Rondebosch.
