In partnership with The House of Taylor, the entity that preserves Elizabeth Taylor’s legacy, Julien's Auctions will present a three-day auction, The Lifestyle of Elizabeth Taylor, in Los Angeles from December 6 to 9.

In association with Cunard, the Taylor assets will also be shown in a special Queen Mary 2 trans-Atlantic voyage from Southampton in the UK to New York in October prior to the sale.

On offer at the auction will be a spectacular collection of Taylor’s iconic fashions, film costumes and accessories by designers such as Christian Dior, Edith Head, Gucci, Valentino, Versace, and Yves Saint Laurent. Jewellery, wigs, fine and decorative art and household items from Taylor’s homes as well as other pieces from her life and career will be sold.

Some of the highlights will be:

* A pale blue chiffon evening gown designed by MGM design guru, Edith Head, worn by Taylor to the 1974 Oscars.

* A silver-studded Versace leather jacket worn on The Johnny Carson Show.

* An Yves Saint Laurent cashmere poncho and jersey top ensemble worn in The Sandpiper.

* A small wooden sleigh bed personalised for Sugar, Taylor’s beloved Maltese poodle (pictured).

* A gold-plated sterling silver Cartier belt with signature inscribed to Taylor’s mother.

Taylor died in 2011 aged 79.
