There is constant demand for rental properties and property owners are capitalising on this lucrative market by subdividing their homes to accommodate multiple tenants.

Anton Koegelenberg, ClareMart senior auction consultant, says the auction group’s hammer will soon fall on two properties that provide such investment opportunities.

25 Visagie Street, Bothasig, is a 595m² property that comprises the two-bedroom main house, a three-bedroom unit, a one-bedroom unit and a bachelor pad. The units will be on show on February 17 from 2pm to 5pm, and on February 21 from noon to 2pm.

The second property, at 13 Keukendal Street in Edgemead, is set on a 632m² erf and subdivided into three rental units.

Unit one has two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and small backyard.

The main house has one bedroom, a lounge, a dining room, open-plan kitchen, full bathroom and separate toilet and an undercover patio.

The third unit comprises two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, living room, loft bedroom and private patio with thatched lapa, pool and braai area with pizza oven.

The property will be on show from 2pm to 5 pm on February 17 and on February 24.

Both properties will be up for bidding at ClareMart’s next multiple auction at the One&Only Hotel at 12.30pm on February 27.
