On offer in an insolvency sale at 11.30am is a three-bedroomed house with swimming pool and double garage at 13 Wilderness Avenue.

Laid-back Mtunzini is a coastal resort popular with lovers of the outdoors and attracts birdwatchers from all over the world. Apart from a prolific variety of birds, the nearby Umlalazi Nature Reserve is one of the few spots in Africa where the rare Palm-Nut Vulture can be seen. These seagull-like birds of prey feed on the fruit of the raffia palms that grow in the reserve.

The nearby Ngoye Forest Reserve also has masses of birdlife - including the elusive Green Barbet - amid colourful orchids and bracket fungi.

Mtunzini - the Zulu word for “place in the shade” - is significant in that it was the home of John Dunn, flamboyant hunter and ivory trader, who was fluent in Zulu and became a trusted adviser to the King Cetshwayo. Dunn became a Zulu chief and among his many settlements in the Mtunzini area is Moyeni, his kraal in the Umlalazi reserve which has a pool he had dug for his many wives to swim in.

In addition to various tourist attractions and holiday accommodation facilities, Mtunzini has a nine-hole golf course, a country club with sea views and a popular beach.

There are no shark nets at the pristine beach for conservation reasons - the Indian Ocean in this area is the breeding ground for near-endangered Zambezi (bull) sharks.
