Dunn became a Zulu chief and among his many settlements in the Mtunzini area is Moyeni, his kraal in the Umlalazi reserve which has a pool he had dug for his many wives to swim in.
In addition to various tourist attractions and holiday accommodation facilities, Mtunzini has a nine-hole golf course, a country club with sea views and a popular beach.
There are no shark nets at the pristine beach for conservation reasons - the Indian Ocean in this area is the breeding ground for near-endangered Zambezi (bull) sharks.
