The food truck manufacturer closed doors because of current economic hardships and has put all its engineering tools and equipment, as well as eight new food trucks and trailers, up for auction.

Stef Olivier of Bidway says: “The food truck industry has enormous potential and there is huge demand for food truck vendors to enter this growing market.

“With lower risk than traditional restaurant establishments - along with flexibility, mobility and the ability to serve food at various locations and events - the mobile food industry is ideal for all South African locations.”

Olivier says the new trucks are fitted for electricity and water and are ready to be parked to sell food.

Bidway is also set to knock down trucks converted into food trailers as well as engineering equipment and tools that include welding machines, generators, cutting machines, drills and compressors.

Thursday’s auction will also feature the contents of two restaurants with under-bar fridges, chip fryers, stainless steel tables, steak grillers, as well as restaurant tables and chairs.

Viewing is on November 27 with assets to be seen from 9am to 4pm.
