Ian Wyles Auctioneers has been instructed by Absa to sell four Durban properties on October 18 at 11am at the Durban Country Club.

Andrew Giddy, property manager for Ian Wyles, says all the properties have the same owner and are all in popular areas of Durban. “However, the feature property is 17 Springfield Road, in the heart of Essenwood suburb and on a very popular road.”

Giddy says the four-bedroom house on a 1100m² plot is close to top primary and secondary schools such as the Maris Stella School for girls in Berea. There are also shopping centres, police stations, churches and mosques in the area with easy access to arterial roads.

“The house has some sea views and is a short drive from the popular North Beach. There has been a lot of interest in the property already, particularly as it is a bank disposal and potential bidders realise that it has to be sold on on October 18 - and that the bidding will determine the price on the day. Two of the four bedrooms are en suite, and there are three garages - rare for this suburb - plus swimming pool and a freestanding two-bedroom cottage on site as well.”

Leafy Essenwood is close to several of Durban’s main attractions, but is best known for the Essenwood Craft Market, operating under an umbrella of trees. To the south of Essenwood is the Durban Botanical Gardens, and on the seaward side is Greyville Racecourse and Royal Durban Golf Club. For sports enthusiasts, Essenwood is also near the city’s major rugby, soccer and cricket stadia.

The other Absa properties to be auctioned by Ian Wyles on October 18 are:

* Four-bedroom house at 18 Urnfield Place, Earlsfield in Newlands East.

* Fourth-floor apartment in the San Francisco block of flats at 189 Prince Street, Point.

* Freehold property at 18 Capricorn Street, in Woodhurst, Chatsworth.

Viewing of the properties can be arranged by calling Andrew Giddy at 082 601 9278 or 031 579 4403.
