Restaurateurs and caterers will have an opportunity to acquire catering equipment from a well-known supermarket at auction prices at Bidway Auction House’s next warehouse sale.
This is the word from auctioneer Stef Olivier, who says all the assets removed from the supermarket’s Hermanus premises will be on display and open to inspection at Bidway’s Woodstock premises.
The movables on the auction floor will include the contents of the supermarket and its on-site coffee shop and butchery, with items ranging from large, curved-glass deli display fridges, beverage coolers and glass door under-bar fridges to a large variety of stainless steel tables and pot sinks.
Offerings from the coffee shop will include restaurant tables and chairs, shelving, coffee bean grinders, two double-head espresso coffee machines that are in very good condition, chip fryers, flat-top grillers and 48-bird chicken rotisseries, he says.

Among the butchery items will be three meat bandsaws, display fridges, plastic-wrapping machines and eight Avery Berkel printing scales.
In addition to the supermarket contents, the auction will include a variety of flat screen television sets, wine coolers, water chillers, split-unit air-conditioners and crockery and cutlery. The auction will be held at Bidway’s premises at 179 Albert Road, Woodstock, at 11am on November. All the items may be viewed and inspected on the auction floor between 9am and 4pm on November 7.
