Business owners, entrepreneurs and developers seeking commercial or residential property investment opportunities, or premises for their own use, will find a wide variety of options on BidX1 South Africa’s next online auction on November 6.

One lot for the sale is in the sought-after suburb of Fresnaye, close to attractions such as the V&A Waterfront, Sea Point promenade, Clifton, Camps Bay and Cape Town CBD. On offer is a fully furnished, luxurious triplex penthouse with an opening bid of R14.5million.

The unit, with its own swimming pool, comprises three floors with direct lift entrance to the middle floor, 24-hour security personnel on site, three undercover parking bays. A storeroom is included.

The online hammer will also come down on an incomplete five-storey, mixed-use commercial building in Elsies River, bordering Goodwood and between the northern and southern suburbs in Cape Town, comprising four residential floors with 100 apartments (not sectionalised), with retail space on the ground floor. The property has an opening bid of R45m and projected rental income of R850000 a month.

Another notable lot is in Uitspan Street, at the entrance to Vredenburg, a West Coast town near Paternoster. The “well-maintained” modern property with 1024m² under roof on an erf of 1368m² is suitable for use as factory, warehouse, retail or showroom, and has an opening bid of R6m.

Originally used as a motor car/boat showroom and dealership with workshop space, it has a multi-functional architectural design with ample parking on site as well as offices, kitchen and ablutions. A fenced and gated adjacent commercial plot of the same size is available for purchase as optional extra to allow for further development.

Online bidding should also be brisk for a fully equipped guest farm in Montagu on Route 62 in the heart of the Klein Karoo with a main four-bedroom detached house with silent generator, 14-sleeper self-catering guest house, two converted one-bedroom stables, one-bedroom cottage and two staff cottages.

With an opening bid of R6.5m, the property includes a camping site with lapa, 2.2m high jackal-proof game fence, three boreholes and two water tanks. The farm is stocked with game including eland, gemsbok, zebra, springbok, and ostrich. Furniture, machinery, quad bikes and a bakkie are included in this lot.
