There has been strong interest in the prime commercial property in Durban’s CBD that is among the lots for the Aucor Property sale on May 6 at 11am at Durban Country Club.

The sectional title 14-storey building - with five lifts - is occupied by mixed-use tenants and fronts directly on to Dr Pixley Kaseme (West) Street in a part of the CBD with high volumes of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Rona Pillay, who is handling the sale for Aucor Property, says the level of inquiries about the property should stimulate bidding on May 6.

“The property falls within the Durban Central Precinct, part of eThekwini’s new Urban Development Zone (UDZ). This is one of nine new precincts demarcated within the greater central city, together forming the UDZ. The aim of the zone is to stimulate new investment into and urban regeneration of the central parts of the city through tax-saving incentives for new development or building restoration.

“The surrounding neighbourhood comprises mainly retail space on ground level and offices and flats on the upper floor levels.”

Other lots for Aucor Property’s major multi-property sale in Durban on May 6 include:

* Residential properties in Kenville, Reservoir Hills and Empangeni.

* A flat in a high-rise building in the Durban North area.

* A semi-detached duplex in Tiffmore Close in Stanmore, Phoenix, with a spacious triple-storey granny flat. In total, this residence has six bedrooms, three bathrooms, two kitchens, and two lounges.
