Fourteen prime vacant erven in Napier will go under the Dealcor Auction House hammer on October 24, on behalf of the Cape Agulhas Municipality.

The smallholdings - which vary in size between 1.4ha and 2.5ha - are on Montsana Street, just off the R316, and located on the eastern slopes above the Klippe Drift river, offering beautiful views of the Overberg town, says auctioneer Dawie Maritz.

“Napier, which is situated about 170km from Cape Town and 45km from Arniston and Struisbaai, is popular among weekend visitors who are eager to experience its laid-back, country lifestyle,” Maritz says. “According to the tourism bureau, Napier is rated the Western Cape’s fourth most attractive town, with Greyton, McGregor and Montagu taking the top three rankings.”

The numerous attractions in the Napier area include restaurants, shops, the Moerse farm stall, trips through the Strandveld with its stunning wine estates, the Agulhas Nature reserve and visits to other places of interest on the Agulhas Plain, such as the village of Elim, which was established as a Moravian mission station in 1824.

Maritz says the auction will give bidders who wish to spend weekends in peaceful country surroundings or to become permanent residents of Napier an ideal opportunity to acquire a property.

The auction is scheduled for noon on October 24, and will be held at the NG Kerksaal (Dutch Reformed Church hall) in Church Street, Napier. Registration will start at 10.45am. Refreshments will be available.
