The inaugural debut of the South African auction house in the northern hemisphere will mark Aspire’s second collaboration with the renowned French auction house, PIASA.

The Paris-based PIASA combined with Aspire for “Modern & Contemporary African Art” at OROAFRICA House in Cape Town last month to auction 198 lots, featuring 139 artists from 27 African countries.

On offer was art in the 20th century modernism, contemporary, and artistic photography idioms. The sale produced record prices for artists from the continent, a feat which is likely to be repeated when their work is sold in Europe.

Consignments are now being invited for the Paris sale. For more details, call 0214180765 or email [email protected] or [email protected].
