US President-elect Donald Trump said on Friday that there will be a "White House AI & Crypto Czar" position in his administration and nominated former Yammer CEO and investor David Sacks for the job.

"I am pleased to announce that David O Sacks will be the 'White House AI & Crypto Czar.' In this important role, David will guide policy for the Administration in Artificial Intelligence and Cryptocurrency, two areas critical to the future of American competitiveness," Trump said on Truth Social.

Apart from that, Sacks will act as the head of the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology, the post read.

"He will work on a legal framework so the Crypto industry has the clarity it has been asking for, and can thrive in the US," Trump added.

A presidential election took place in the United States on November 5. Republican candidate Donald Trump, who served as the US president from 2017-2021, was declared the winner by all leading race callers and networks. Democratic candidate Kamala Harris conceded defeat in an address to supporters.
