‘Invasive scrutiny’ stymies the pursuit of leadership roles

It is Women’s Month, yet a fight between two powerful male leaders dominates the news, while gender-based violence which has reached pandemic levels, the lack of value attached to care work – mainly women’s work – are relegated to the margins, as we, like spectators, sit and watch the fight between the men in the political ring.
