The Citroën C4's larnier sibling, the DS4, is now available with an automatic gearbox, which is mated to a detuned version of the 147kW 1.6-litre turbopetrol engine found in the flagship petrol model.
This model's power and torque figures of 120kW and 240Nm are specific to this model, and Citroën says its characteristics are tuned to suit the six-speed automatic gearbox that it's mated to.
The 'box also has a manual gear-shifting function and the performance figures are not too shabby, the company claiming it's capable of sprinting from zero to 100km/h in just 9.3 seconds and of reaching a top end of 212km/h.
Talking of claims, the DS4 auto is credited with a combined fuel consumption of 7.7 litres per 100km and a CO2 emissions figure of 178g/km.
The DS4 THP 160 Sport Auto is all yours for R313 900, which includes a three-year/100 000km warranty and five-year/100 000km service plan.
