Citroën South Africa will be releasing a special edition DS3 Ultra Prestige in June this year and one that, in the words of the French carmaker, “combines subtle strong colours, beautiful materials, striking features and a host of advanced technology.”
So what makes it unique? For starters, Citroën has thrown in a set of 'Club leather' front seats with 'watchstrap design' upholstery with a 'crescendo' colour effect.
Inspired by the fashion world, the colour of the leather gradually changes from white at the top of the seat to black on the seat base.
Furthermore, the dashboard features 'Alpine' white leather, which is also embossed with the iconic DS signature.
The colour of the dials matches the white detailing of the interior. Even the mats are something special, being ultra-thick and braided with double top-stitching in contrasting colours.
The special edition is based on the DS3 Sport trim level and it's available in two colours - Banquise White with an Onyx black roof or Obsidian Black with an Opale White Roof - the roof also featuring a unique pattern.
There is also a 'Dark Chrome Signature' option, including black door mirrors with dark chrome base, dark chrome side rubbing strips, front grille surround, front fog light surrounds and an insert on the rear number plate moulding.
Other features include a sports spoiler, dark-tinted side and rear windows and 17-inch charcoal-grey alloy wheels.
Beneath the bonnet is the familiar 1.6-litre turbopetrol motor, good for 115kW and 240Nm. It's priced at R296 400.
