If you’re invited to a wedding you can only assume that the bridal couple really want you there.

Whether you’re a family member or a good friend, receiving a wedding invite can be considered a privilege.

This Reddit user thought she was being invited to what she thought was her friend’s wedding but it turned out that the bride had an ulterior motive.

The friend took to the app to share her experience with a selfish bride.

In her post, she explains that she attended her high school reunion party where she met up with her old classmates.

One of the women started talking to her and they kept in touch for months thereafter.

“Sometimes we talked nonstop for a day or two. Like bff or something,” the woman writes.

She then got invited to her new friend’s wedding which she attended and even bought a gift.

“All of the presents on their wish list are a little pricey, basically she was asking to furnish her whole apartment,” she adds.

However, after the wedding, the woman never heard from the bride again saying that the bride “ghosted” her.

She subsequently discovered that the bride had done the same thing to other girls from the high school party.

“I know some people can be unreasonable but this is the first time I have experienced it myself,” the woman concluded.

Reddit users took to the comment section to respond to the woman’s tale.

“How sad. She's so materialistic that she filled the room with people that don't truly love her just to have stuff. She probably couldn't even truly fill a room with people who love her. That's so sad,” commented one person.

Another user commented, “Lol the audacity to spend months being someone’s friend for a gift that costs what, a few hundred?? I’m sure she’ll reach out to you again next time she wants something so make sure you don’t reply OP. And for future reference, I’ve never had good things come out of women suddenly trying to be my friend out of the blue. They’re always either trying to get you into their MLM or religious cults like Jehovah's Witnesses. But scamming someone for a wedding gift is a new one.”

“Maybe she also wanted to seem more popular at her wedding with a big crowd of “friends” around her? And then obviously you were of no use in her regular life. Sh**ty behaviour either way,” said another trying to make sense of the bride’s behaviour.
