For parents looking for a creative way to spend the school holidays, Zeitz MOCAA’s children’s workshops offer an opportunity to explore art, learn new skills, and have fun in a vibrant setting.

Zeitz MOCAA’s BMW Centre for Art Education will host a week of creative workshops for the upcoming school holidays, from Monday, March 31 to Friday, April 4, 2025

Designed as an open studio experience, the holiday programme offers a variety of hands-on activities at different tables, allowing children to explore art in an interactive and stimulating environment.

This year’s theme draws inspiration from Ghanaian umbrellas used in royal processions, with each activity table dedicated to crafting different parts of an umbrella.

The workshops cater to varying skill levels and age groups, ensuring an enjoyable experience for children and teens aged 6 to 16.

Participants can choose to take part in a new activity each day or complete two activities in a single day, depending on their preferences and the time they wish to spend at the workshop.

For those attending only once, select tables will offer one-day activities.

Workshops run daily from 10:15 am to 1:00 pm, with children welcome to stay as long as they like within the session.

Facilitators will guide participants through their chosen activities, and children can take snack breaks in between sessions.

Younger siblings (aged 5 and under) are also welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian if they wish to participate.

Workshops are free for Zeitz MOCAA members’ children.

Annual membership is R390, while non-members can join the workshops with a single-entry fee of R250 per child (including one accompanying adult).
