Tuning into the first hour of the show, we were greeted by his characteristic charm and intelligence. He was just amazing as usual. It makes you wonder where he was all these years. The radio industry would have been incredible with him around but as the saying goes: there is a time and season for everything.

Opening the show with honesty, Ndlozi admitted to feeling nervous yet excited about embarking on this new chapter in his career. He took a moment to send heartfelt prayers and condolences to the families of those affected by the devastating floods in KwaZulu-Natal, grounding the conversation in current societal issues from the outset. Describing his first day as “Orientation day,” he expressed a willingness to engage with his audience, encouraging listeners to call in and share their expectations for the show.

One caller remarked: “We expect a lot from you! There are several issues this country faces and we hope your conversations reach the right people.” Another enthusiastic listener added: "I'm so excited for you! I expect nothing but greatness because that’s what I see in you. I hope what you talk about doesn’t end behind the door but is actionable.”

Adding to the welcoming atmosphere, renowned radio personality Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe made a surprise appearance to offer his best wishes, emphasising the unique emotional connection radio hosts can create with their audiences. Molefe remarked: “We have a doctor now gracing the airwaves; this is a special moment,” while ending his visit with a heartfelt prayer for Ndlozi’s success in this new role.

Among those eager to congratulate Ndlozi was legendary sports broadcaster Robert Marawa, who emphasised the new energy and engagement Ndlozi brought into the political arena.

“What you brought into the parliamentary building was new energy and engaging intellect - that’s what’s needed!” with encouragement that hosting would serve as therapeutic for the former parliamentarian.

The response to Ndlozi’s first show has been nothing short of remarkable. Social media platforms have been flooded with praise, highlighting his compelling style and eloquent discussions. Comments declaring him a natural on air reflected the broader appeal he has garnered, as he quickly endeared himself to a diverse audience.

User @jaytcoza tweeted: “What a powerful debut on #PowerTalk! Dr Ndlozi's down-to-earth nature and charm stole the show.” Meanwhile, @Amza_5 mentioned, “Power FM couldn't have chosen a better person for this show. Dr Ndlozi is doing this so effortlessly.”

Responding to the feedback, he wrote: “To all the listeners of @Powerfm987 thank you deeply for the warm welcome to #PowerTalk. Thanks for the love and encouragement. Let us travel together moving forward.  The first day was just perfect because of you. To you, I say power!”
