Irish singing sensation Darren Kiely is set to perform in South Africa for the first time next year.
The “Ocean” hitmaker is bringing his “The Never Been Here Before Tour” to Johannesburg and Cape Town.
He will perform at The Troyeville in the City of Gold on April 17. Kiely will then travel to the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay on April 20. Supporting acts for both shows are expected to be announced soon.
The musician is also set to take to the stage at the Splashy Fen Festival in Underberg, KwaZulu-Natal.
Dubbed South Africa’s friendliest music festival, the music extravaganza will take place during the Easter weekend from April 17 to 21.
On Friday, November 29, the organisers announced that Kiely will be joined by GoodLuck and the Ard Matthews trio, which comprises Ard Matthews, Jude Kenrick and Denholm Harding.
The rest of the confirmed line-up also includes Sunset Sweatshop, the high-energy brass ensemble Nomadic Orchestra and rising stars Ben Rodriques, Jamie Lee Sexton, Booshle G and Angel Mazibuko.
Over 300 musicians are set to perform across six stages, with three more international acts and additional headliners set to be announced at the end of January.
"We’ve made a concerted effort in this first announcement to bring artists who haven’t yet experienced Splashy and who our fans haven’t yet experienced at Splashy before,” festival organiser Stu Berry said in a statement.
“These are mostly amazing South African artists we’ve seen live and who we know will pack a punch in their performances—which is exactly what Splashy is renowned for."
Tickets for Splashy Fen 2025 are currently on sale through the festival website, with Early Bird prices available until January 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, tickets for Kiely’s Joburg and Mother City concerts, which are presented by BreakOut Events, will go on sale on Monday, December 2, from noon.
Hailing from the picturesque town of Co. Cork, Ireland, Kiely’s folk-infused pop sound has captured the hearts of fans worldwide.
“Now, South African audiences will get to witness his electrifying live performances,” the statement added.
The multi-talented artist's journey began with mastering traditional Irish instruments, before evolving into a celebrated singer-songwriter.
His poignant lyrics and soaring vocals have earned him accolades on national stages, This includes a debut on the Irish Singles Chart Top 40 and a Top 5 position on the Irish Homegrown chart.
After selling out his “The Road Home Tour” in Ireland, he toured across Europe earlier this year.
