In an exclusive interview with IOL, Wandile shared his inspiring journey from humble beginnings recording in a studio apartment to touring internationally with a global music icon. He reflects on the surreal nature of his rise in the music industry and the lessons learned along the way.
''I learned the importance of using song to connect with people when I began busking in East London and later on the streets of Germany. From those early days to my current position, telling stories with my music, it has been a lovely journey.
''We liked listening to music at home, which is where my adventure started. Like other families, we included music in all of our activities, including quiet evenings, road trips, and celebrations. Listening to Oliver Mtukudzi while driving with my dad is one of my favorite memories, which has played a part and influenced my sound," he said.
