After wrapping up an unforgettable edition, here’s a look back at the highlights from the Splashy Fen Music Festival 2025, where 8,000 festival-goers enjoyed an incredible Easter weekend filled with music and community.
With stunning scenery, world-class music, and a sense of community, Splashy Fen 2025 has set a new standard, earning its title as the best edition yet.
A beautiful start
The festival kicked off on Thursday, 17 April, under clear skies, following some pre-festival rain. This weather set the stage for what would be four glorious days of sunshine and celebration in the Southern Drakensberg.
SOLD-OUT from day one
By Thursday evening, over 5,500 attendees were already soaking up the festival atmosphere at Splashy Fen farm, achieving full capacity before the gates opened. The festivities were officially inaugurated by Cllr. T.N. Jojozi, Deputy Mayor of Harry Gwala District Municipality.
Dazzling performances
Friday and Saturday were electric, with a stellar lineup featuring local talents like Ard Matthews and Prime Circle, alongside international artists including Youngr from the UK and Casey Lowery, who delivered surprise performances. Mafikizolo and GoodLuck ended Saturday with memorable sets that had festival-goers on their feet.
A full festival experience
Beyond music, attendees engaged in a plethora of activities, from sunrise yoga to live art displays. The Kids Zone was buzzing with laughter, and the vibrant Splashy Parade was a sight to behold with its stilt-walkers and fire breathers.
Joyous Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday began with a serene morning service, followed by a delightful Easter egg hunt for children. The Legends of the Fen showcase on the Acoustic Stage featured beloved performances that highlighted the festival's rich musical heritage.
Grand finale
As Sunday evening unfolded, the Main Stage came alive, culminating in a night of unforgettable performances. A post from Splashy Fen’s social media encapsulated the joy of the festival: "Our legs are sore, our voices are gone, but our hearts? FULL!"
