Top South African DJs are among other international DJs who will be recognised at the 2024 DJ Awards.
Major League DJz, DJ Black Coffee, DJ Euphonic also known as Themba and Kelvin Momo have scored nominations in the Afro category.
Other DJs in this category include, Pablo Fierro, Kitty Amor, Jamaica’s Killamanjaro and Haitian DJ and producer Francis Mercier.
The Awards returns after a four-year hiatus and celebrates international DJs, live acts, and breakthrough artists who’ve made significant impacts in the global music scene.
The 2024 DJ Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of Electronic Music,” will be held on October 2, at Chinois, Ibiza.
“This nomination is a dream come true. We’ve always believed in the power of African music to unite people, and to be recognised on this scale is a win not just for us, but for every artist pushing the sound of the continent forward,” said the Major League DJz in a joint statement.
Nominees for the coveted International DJ Of The Year 2024 award includes Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Fisher, Martin Garrix, Peggy Gou and Swedish House Mafia.
Silverwear will also be awarded in categories including, Ibiza Icon, Ibiza Track of the Summer, Ibiza Party of the Summer, Global Festival, What's Hot Global, Eye On... “USA”, AFEM Play It Back and the newest category, Most Memorable Dance Floor Moment.
The 23rd edition, which is under new ownership and investment, promises to continue its tradition of celebrating global DJ culture.
