Durban - KwaZulu-Natal police have located the family of the man who dropped dead in Verulam, north of Durban, almost a month ago.

On Monday, police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo told the Daily News that the family of Zwelinjani Mtshali, 67, was located in Nkandla.

Last week Verulam police had appealed to the public to assist them in locating Mtshali’s relatives.

“He collapsed on Todd Street in Verulam on May 15, and was declared dead at the scene,” Ngcobo said.

Verulam police were called to the scene, and an inquest docket was opened.

“He was identified by a friend who informed the police that the deceased was from the KwesakaKhanyile area in Nkandla,” Ngcobo said.
