DURBAN - Since the start of the week, social media reports suggest that missing teenager, 16, had been found.

According to a police report, she was last seen on December 19, 2021, when she left her home in eManzimtoti, south of Durban. She was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans.

The uMlazi Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit was investigating with her disappearance.

Her missing posters had indicated that she had not contacted her family or friends since she was last seen.

This week, the posters have been branded with found or found safe.

On Wednesday, private investigator Brad Nathanson confirmed that she has been found.

“She is physically unharmed. Together with her family, she is busy detailing a timeline,” Nathanson said on his Facebook page.

Dalene Crawford, who had been vocal on Facebook regarding the teenager’s disappearance, this week said: “I would like to thank this group for all being caring and loving. Regarding the missing girl that was found, I'm proud to see that our group members are not demanding explanations regarding her being found safe.

“As part of one of the organisations that were assisting, I'd like to state that due to her being a minor we have laws to follow, unfortunately no information gets given out pertaining to a minor.

“We request the public to respect the law and to respect the family's privacy. Thank you to everyone for sharing the fliers, the prayers and concern. This group is amazing, thank you.”

In another post she thanked all those who forwarded the flyer as well as other role-players.
