DURBAN - Patrons and staff of a Chatsworth sports bar are still in shock after being robbed on Sunday night.

The robbers made off with various bottles of liquor, cellphones from the customers and cash from the till.

Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele said the complainant alleged that at 10pm, he was performing his duties at the business premises when he was confronted by four men carrying handguns.

“At gunpoint, they robbed him and customers of cash, liquor and cellphones before fleeing the scene in their getaway vehicle.”

Mbele said no shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. A case of robbery was opened at Bayview police station for investigation.

Police are still searching for the robbers.
