Durban — Bonang Matheba and tweeps have blasted Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula after he posted a tweet on Sunday morning saying he was in Qatar.
Matheba and tweeps asked Mbalula why he had left the country when 21 people had been killed in a horror crash on the N2 between Pongola and Itshelejuba in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Friday.
Among the 21 killed were 19 children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.
Matheba, a businesswoman and media personality who is not afraid to call out government ministers, said Mbalula should have cancelled his trip because the Pongola community needed him.
“Tone deaf. All of you. You should’ve cancelled this trip. The community of #Pongola needs you,” said Matheba.

Another tweep asked Mbalula if he was not supposed to be landing in Pongola and doing his job.
Aren't you supposed to be landing in Pongola and doing your work? Ufunani Doha? pic.twitter.com/2lgLKlakQd
Must be nice to run away from all your responsibilities and rub your victims noses in it.

Matheba has previously called out the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa on numerous occasions.
The reality TV star has even told Mthethwa to resign because he is useless at his job, and further demanded that he pay more money to South Africa’s national women’s soccer team, Banyana Banyana, after they won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against Zambia in July.
