Durban — AmaZulu FC has launched the new 2022/23 season with a bang and introduced new players and jersey to beef up the Usuthu.
Ten new players and four kits were unveiled on Tuesday during the stakeholders’ brunch, where top-performing players received awards from the team’s management.
The event was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Umhlanga.
Club president Sandile Zungu said he expected them to contribute immensely and ensure they built the team.
“Please help each other to achieve your dreams. There will be moments when things seem to be bad but at the end of the day we must pick up each other. I don’t want any of the team's players to end up in the streets.
“Gentlemen, all of you, as you know, if I were to narrate each one of your stories, you’d know you didn’t just land here...there were discussions and negotiations to make it possible for you to join AmaZulu. We had to talk to your previous teams and managers and we need to thank them for allowing us to have you here at AmaZulu,” said Zungu.
“We are very clear about what we want to be and we will do exactly that. I wish you guys success at AmaZulu and expect you to make yourselves very popular and keep our supporters happy. Here there are opportunities for you. After 100 years, your names must not be forgotten here at AmaZulu.”
Earlier, before the introduction of the new players, the best-performing players received trophies.
