Sunflower seed prices hit two-month high

Johannesburg - South African sunflower seed prices rose to the highest in more than two months.

Corn gained and wheat reached a three-month high.

Sunflower seeds for delivery in December increased 2.2 percent to 4,570 rand a metric ton, the highest for a most-active contract since July 17, on the South African Futures Exchange in Johannesburg.

It didn’t trade yesterday.

White corn for delivery in December rose 1.9 percent to 1,815 rand a ton, the highest since June 24.

The yellow variety gained 1.5 percent to 1,845 rand a ton.

Wheat futures added 0.5 percent to 3,688 rand a ton, the highest price since June 20. - Bloomberg News
